Young Naturalists 2011

Young Naturalists offers an opportunity for boys and girls who have finished grades one through five to learn about the natural world by exploring the gardens, greenhouses, woodlands, fields, and streams of Reynolda and creating nature-related projects.

Two one-week sessions:
June 13 through 17
June 20 through 24

From 9 a.m. until noon each day
Cost: $115 ($100 for Friends of Reynolda Gardens)

Highlights of the week:

  • Learning about plants from all over the world
  • planting and harvesting vegetables and flowers in the Children's Garden
  • preparing plants to take home
  • exploring the woods and streams of Reynolda
  • observing animal life
  • art and writing activities related to nature observations

Reynolda Gardens of Wake Forest University encompasses 129 acres including open fields, woodlands, formal gardens, and a greenhouse. The program is based in the historic Boathouse.
